I write from Spain, so sorry for my poor english.
I have a midi keyboard (Commodore) and it have always worked fine with my old soundcard (Gravis Ultrasound).
But my new computer has a built on soundcard, the realtek ac97 (the most popular built soundcard on mainboards). When i play my keyboard plugged with the MIDI port of this soundcard there is a short delay between a key is pressed and the sound is heard. It's worse when i play quickly.
I think that the problem is on the speed of the midi port (joystick port) of the soundcard, that cannot cope with the speed of the MIDI messages.
żDo you know any software to configure the speed of the midi port?
żOr could i buy a new PCI card with a configurable MIDI port?
Thank you very much.
