I'm probably using the term "Full Rest" incorrectly, but here's an example of what I'm talking about (at 2min, 32seconds):

I don't have any examples...
But that is a full rest. A full rest is 4 beats, half rest is 2 so on and so fourth.
And damn I love that band's choice in guitars.

I think there is a full rest near the end of Motley Crue's "Live Wire"- just after Tommy Lee does one of his patented cymbal grabs- and I always thought it had great dramatic effect...
At work, so I can't do youtube- maybe someone will link it up and tell me if I am right. I have not heard it in a while.
Motorhead-Born to Raise Hell 3:36 or so.

That she is. :thu:
I always particularly liked the live on Jay Leno version... esp her in it. Here is a crappy compressed version of it. I have a great version on my computer, but it's like 300MB. She's actually a pretty decent singer... for this kind of music, esp when she needs to hold a note... She tends not to vibrato and that's a pretty dangerous thing. VERY few singers can hold a note dead steady for a few seconds without some sort of vibrato.

There are a couple of them in Waiting Room by Fugazi, the first one sounds longer than a full rest.

More long pause than full rest at 4:05, but I always loved this tune..."ain't there one damn song that can make me ...break down and cry...
The audio on this youtube is actually pretty good.

can't see you tube at work to know if it's been said already, but i think alanis morrisette's univited has one. i used to love to turn the volume up 4-5 clicks during the rest so it came crashing back.

Off topic, now, but I found a Russian rock band called Slot with a female lead singer that kind of reminds me of slightly more hard core version of Evanescence. No full rest in this song, but still a rest, at 2:24.

You are an insensitive clueless ass.
Pete Ham (singer) was a victim of severe depression and committed suicide.
The bassist, Tom Evans, also ended his own life.

That song is quite sophisticated, musically speaking.
"Tell Her No" is even moreso: rhythmically, melodically, chord structure, polyphony.
